Respond to at least two (2) of your peers by answering their question or commenting on their process.

SOPHIA

Describe your problem statement revision process.

I want the problem statement to accurately describe the issue that needs to be resolved. I want to ensure that the problem statement serves as the investigation’s roadmap, focusing the team’s attention on the right objectives.

Ask a question about the revision or organization of your problem statement.

I am open to all comments and advice on improving the revised problem statement; please feel free to critique.

Problem Statement

Homelessness among those working in the food business is an increasing problem that needs immediate response. Despite having jobs, a sizable portion of food sector employees struggle to find stable housing, which increases their vulnerability and raises the possibility of a poverty cycle. Low earnings, a lack of affordable housing options, and insufficient support systems are a few causes of this issue.

Problem Statement and Question

According to research, Childhood sexual abuse (CSA) is a complex and prevalent problem with devastating long-term consequences for survivors (Van Der Westhuizen et al., 2023). Researchers have explored meaning-making mechanisms CSA women survivors found as a source of meaning and fulfillment throughout their recovery process; however, there is a need for more empirical studies that focus on exploring the meaning-making and healing processes of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) (Das et al., 2016). With this said, is the problem statement clear and easy to understand?

Problem statement revision process

The problem statement revision process was simple because I focused on the researchers’ recommendations and limitations of the study. The recommendation from the authors guided me to other studies that suggested the need for additional research on the topic. After reading a few other studies, I made the necessary revision to the problem statement.
