Due Date: Sunday at 11:59 pm of Unit 3
Points: 100
Overview:
In Unit 5, you will begin to develop an informative speech presentation which you will
present in video format in Unit 7. This process will be much more enjoyable if you focus
on a topic about which you are passionate or have knowledge and experience.
Instructions:
For this assignment, you will choose a topic, and share your passion, knowledge and
experience in a 2-3 minute video journal. The topic does not have to be complex but
should be something you are interested in or excited about and would like to explore
further in the informative speech presentation assignment later this term.
In the video journal, answer the following questions:
 What is a topic you are passionate about or that interests/excites you?
 What is your personal experience with this topic?
 Why should others care/want to learn about this topic?
 What is the single most interesting aspect/fact about this topic?
You may record the video using your cell phone or webcam. You will then upload your
video to Youtube, ensuring you select the “unlisted” option. This will keep your video
private and allow access only to those who have the video link. You will then post the
video link in the What’s Your Passion video journal discussion forum. You are
encouraged to watch each speech but are not required to comment. Any comments left
on this discussion will not be graded.
