4 parts
must be 250-400 words each
Part 1:
1. Describe how conversion reactions, real physical disorders, and outright malingering can be differentiated. In this discussion share what you think about how or why they should be differentiated!
2. Provide a question to the class that would promote peers’ interaction with you about this week’s topic!
Part 2:
In our society, both gender and peer groups play a vital role in the developing child’s life.
Please talk about how gender roles influence the developing child, cognitively, physically, and social/emotionally. Is gender biological or is it influenced by society? Are people born gay? What about trans? What sources can you cite to defend your statements?
Peer groups, particularly in middle childhood and adolescence are often greatly influenced by and formed around gender. What is the importance of a peer group? How does being involved in one (or not) impact growth and development in all the domains? [Cognitive, physical, and social/emotional] What sources can you cite to defend your statements?
Part 3:
This week, your readings focus on performance-enhancing drugs in sports and depressants and inhalants. After considering these topics, what would be the single most important point about them that you would want to discuss with: a pre-teen, a high school-aged boy, and a college-aged woman? How would you have those conversations? Do you think we, as a society, should do a better job of education on these issues, or is the amount of education we do adequate?
Part 4:
This week, we consider the many options for treatment in disaster situations. Using the course materials as a guide, consider the treatment option(s) you would deploy in a specific disaster situation, explaining your rationale for the selection(s). Think about the population(s) the treatment would be used with and why this is the most appropriate choice for the population(s) identified.
After reviewing the course materials for the week and the Scenario Module 4, choose to answer questions from either the Health & Social Services section or the Environmental Response/Health & Safety section. Once you have chosen a section, you must respond to the primary question and at LEAST two other questions in your main post response. Be sure to clearly identify which questions you are answering in your main post.
