Re: Topic 1 DQ 2
One global health resource that I plan to use for my research is the World Health Organization (WHO) website. WHO not only promotes health, but also leads global efforts in the expansion of universal health coverage (WHO, 2021). The WHO website has up to date information regarding global health concerns and factual publications taken from peer-reviewed articles and publications. The WHO also takes part in disease prevention and the social and economic factors that affect health, as well as statistical data regarding life expectancy, morbidity and mortality rates.

Re: Topic 1 DQ2
class,
Based on the research I did to answer this DQ, I found that the American Public Health Association website (APHA) is a very good resource for learning more about global health. The website provides information about what public and global health is, it talks about several topics that can affect our well being like climate change, COVID, environmental health, gun violence, racism, and vaccines to name a few. Based on whatever topic you want to learn from, you simply click the link on the chose topic, I chose to look at COVID, and it gives me information about the virus and what we can do to stop the spread and how to protect ourselves and others. There are several articles that help to give us a better understanding of how serious this virus is, and how harmful misinformation is to the public. I found this website to be quite interesting because of the different topics that can go under global health, I was always under the impression that global health was mainly or only about diseases and infections, but this website made me realize that there are other perspectives to look at global and public health.

I found that there are several helpful websites. WHO which is one of the most reliable sources and CDC Center for Global Health. The CDC center for global health work together with other countries. In this website the CDC has listed many resources and information available to the public, information on global health security, global health protection, immunizations, travelers insurance, HIV & tuberculosis, Malaria and Parasitic Diseases, food and water, and other diseases and threats. The CDC works 24/7 around the globe to stop health threats at their source. Some helpful resources are infographics, reports, news, videos, fact sheets, and other educational materials. COVID related information is also available on their website. It is a very helpful website that I plan on using throughout this course along with the WHO website, Global Health NOW and the course textbook. Thanks.

Hello class
There are multiple outlets to learn more along with gathering knowledgeable information about global health care. One resource I found to be helpful and will allow me to gather facts, knowledge, and information from is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC uses their own scientific expertise to ensure that people live a healthier and safer lifestyle. Their website obtains valuable information regarding current global health issues along with a structured plan and agenda on how they will conquer the issues at hand. I know that this resource will help me to gain more knowledge about global health throughout this course because they have multiple outlets of information that will encourage me to find what I am passionate about. The CDC is global which means they work alongside other countries to make the entire population get better quality health. The CDC is passionate about detecting a health issue, then trying to find a way to prevent it along with responding. It is a great organization to research about and how big of an impact they are having globally.
