One focus is through ticket sales in regard to the world olympics. The majorissue when it comes to ticket sales for the olympic games is the fact that there are morethan 17 000 athletes competing from more than 50 countries across the globe (Fried 2013). Distributing tickets is a task in itself when it comes to international competition(Fried 2013). The olympics in Beijing managed their ticket sales through online sales and also pushed them through the Bank of Beijing ( Chinese Law and Government 2009).Within the olympics in Beijing and how they managed ticketing the committee brokethe ticketing into phases (Chinese Law and Government 2009). With this four phasesystem the ticketing organization was able to manage the amount of tickets allottments pricing applications for tickets and managing the channels in which thetickets would be sold (Chinese Law and Government 2009). When it comes down to thepayment for tickets the committee does not take payments until the applications arereviewed and the lottery is drawn (Chinese Law and Government 2009). In my opinion ofticket sales when it comes to international sports I feel that there needs to be aninternational committe that controls and manages the tickets of internationalcompetition. The issue that comes about as unfair in my opinion is the fact that thehosting country/city has the management of the tickets. I think this can be favoredtoward that particular country and their business partners. When it comes to ticketingcosts they need to be made fair in relation to each country represented. I feel that thetickets need to be priced evenly based on the currency value of the hosting country.Another point in regard to international competition is the point of broadcasting.Broadcasting is where the money is made. For the international sporting events theorganization hosting the sporting event is able to sell the broadcasting rights across theworld (Fried 2013). Broadcasting rights can cost upwards of hundreds of millions ofdollars (Fried 2013). I think the broadcasting is the most important part of internationalcompetition. The cooperation and agreements to extend the sporting events across theworld is very important because it allows other countries to see the other sports andteams outside of their country. I think that this helps to spread diversity and sportrecognition.Overall international sports have a great influence throughout the globe. There areissues that go along with international sports like ticketing but there are also veryinfluential positives through broadcasting.References:Fried G. & DeSchriver T. (2013).
