Source: Personal Interview (Gathering Sources for Research Paper, Part 3)

ILO: Construct a text that incorporates critical reading, analyzing, and interaction with sources.

Instructions:

  • I’m asking everyone to conduct an interview as one of their sources. The interview should be with someone who is currently working in the area you’re writing about.
  • For this week, you’re preparing for the interview. For your assignment, tell me who you are interviewing and what their qualifications are. You need to go ahead and set up an appointment, so tell me when and where the interview will take place. I do allow e-mail interviews and Google hangouts. Whatever works for you. Finally, prepare 10 good interview questions that will help to advance your research. The best questions are open-ended, not yes/no. Questions that start with “what” and “how” tend to be excellent at evoking responses.
  • You will submit the written-up interview next week, so make sure the date you set gives you time to write it up.

Due Saturday at 11:59 p.m. EST.
