From the professor: Review the material at the beginning of the course on essays. Write a five-paragraph essay on the Romantic elements of Dumas’ Lady of the Camellias. The first paragraph has an opening sentence, a thesis statement, and a mention of the supporting points (elements of Romanticism). The body consists of three paragraphs, each on an element of Romanticism in the novel. Remember topic sentences. The conclusion sums up and re-iterates the thesis. If you use a short quote, add an in-text citation and a matching item in the Works Cited Page.
A good resource is the OWL Purdue Writing Lab online–ask for sample essays. I prefer using the third person, not I, we, or you. Use Grammarly to catch errors.
