1. Calculate your ecological footprint using the calculator at: www.footprintcalculator.org (attach result at end of paper)
2. Review the table of ecological footprints and biocapacity file (especially columns ecological footprint of consumption, total biocapacity, ecological (deficit) or reserve).
3. Realize that the World Ecological Footprint of Consumption is 2.7 while the Total Biocapcity is 1.8, resulting in an ecological deficit of 0.9.
4. Analyze wether you think sustainable development is achievable with a more equitable distribution of resource through which variable from the following: altering individual ecological footprints, increasing Earth’s biocapacity, changing world population.
