Historical Paper:
“How is Montessori different from Reggio Emilia?”
After researching and discussing a number of early childhood education programs and important figures, including their historical perspectives and implications in todays early childhood care and education options, the student will write a paper reflecting his/her understanding of the specific contributions of the figure or movement. This paper will address historical significance and influence on current practices.

Guidelines for Historical Paper:1. Choose a person or a movement in Early Childhood Education to write an historical overview. The topic can be related to the readings or completely outside of the topics in class. (Ex. Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Head Start, Froebel, Dewey, etc.)2. Find a minimum of 5 references/resources to support your argument.3. Write research paper (5-8 pages double spaced) on the importance of the person/movement in the field of early childhood education.
