First, working alone, and using this page as a list of examples, derive five (5) principles that you believe are essential rules for creating a perfect portfolio.
What are the best of these examples (and the most relevant) doing correctly?
What top five ideas do you think that, if strictly followed, would lead to the most successful portfolio? Think of this as a kind of experiment. Aliens have landed on the planet, and they’ve instructed you to tell everyone how to create an online portfolio that successfully demonstrates their personal worth (within the context of composition — these aliens have a weird obsession with good writing). You’re allowed to issue only five rules (the aliens are obsessed with top-five lists). People who fail to create a strong portfolio will be seen as food and eaten by aliens (the aliens believe that food animals don’t communicate well). What five, very specific rules do you create in order to guarantee that the largest number of people survive?
You’re allowed and encouraged to discuss your rules with your group. Get good ideas and be precise. If you come up with extra rules, that’s fine, but the aliens might or might not allow them. They’ll think more highly of you, though.
