Write a paper that responds to the Chapmans argument by analyzing some aspect of Dutts poem Baugmaree
Organize your paper as a response to the article. Your introduction should include something like Chapman argues that . . . but while her analysis of X helps us understand Y, it does not allow us to make sense of how Duttaccomplishes Z, followed by an explanation of how your paper will shed light on Z. Later in the paper, you should (more than once) come back to how your reading of Z revises/challenges/expands Chapmans claim.
You should use what the article has to say as an occasion for further, original thought of your ownfeel encouraged to disagree, adapt, or expand on the claims made in the article.
Close read passages from the poem(s) youre writing about in order to prove your point. Remember that quotations do not speak for themselves: do not forget to analyze the passages you cite. Looking at the form, tone, style, imagery, and structure of a passage will help you analyze the text in a way that is not obvious from its content alone.
