Agency and Transaction Costs in Infrastructure Projects – Outline

Hi, so the task is a chosen Infrastructure Project, I have chosen Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Causeway in Kuwait, 4th biggest causeway in the world
Let me know in the chat if you think its a good choice, or lets settle on something together shall we?

Also, I will be uploading a previous submitted term paper/case study that was good, use this paper to help you create the outline and know how the paper should go/be, and also will help you decide if Sheikh Jaber Causeway is a good project or if we should choose something else, please use this term paper as your guide!

Anyways,

All I need from you is an outline. These are the term paper instructions. I dont want the paper – just an outline for now to see if we can get it approved then proceed with the paper

Your assignment is to select a case study (i.e. an infrastructure
project) that can be used to illustrate the material learned in this module, especially:

1. Agency Theory, including but not limited to principal-agent problems
2. Contract Theory, including but not limited to hold-up problems associated with
incomplete contracts and misalignment of incentives
3. Transaction Cost Economics, including both internal and external transaction costs
4. Environmental and Climate Change economics, including but not limited to tools
like life-cycle assessment modelling, to assess negative externalities

sources: Difference between internal transaction and external transaction – https://www.termscompared.com/difference-between-internal-transaction-and-external-transaction/

You are not constrained to the United Kingdom for examples, and are welcome to choose
from any country and/or legal regime as these issues invariably arise in all contexts. Your
case study should be divided into three sections. In the first section, you should present the
project selected, identifying the main players and the challenges faced. This should be about
750-1000 words. In the second section, you should succinctly summarise the issues you have
identified (agency theory, contract theory, transaction costs, negative environmental or social
externalities, etc) that are relevant to the case. This should be about 750 words. In the third
section, you will apply these concepts to the case in an extended discussion, in which you
first evaluate the actions taken by key players to mitigate (successfully or unsuccessfully
depending on the case) the problems and challenges you have identified and then offer
recommendations based on material learned in the module. This should also be about 750-
1000 words. Your case study should have a short introduction and four or five discussion
questions at the end.

So far what I have gathered that will help you, also do your own research LOL

The beneficiary of the investment is the Ministry of Public Works of Kuwait, and the deadline for the construction is 5 years. The general structural designer is Systra, the general contractor is the Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Combined Group Contracting Co consort and the consultant is Dar Al-Handasah.

The construction process duration is a very important economic aspect for all members involved in the project, especially for the contractor. In order to increase the efficiency of the project development, the engineers responsible for the construction process must always find innovative and unique technical solutions specific for every project. Starting with traditional methods which are very well known and established in practice, sometimes the search and design of new and improved methods is required. This also happened within this mega- project, involving the technological methods of creating and mounting the reinforcement cages.
