Personal Curriculum Philosophy Paper

Personal Curriculum Philosophy Paper to state Due Week One
Personal Curriculum Philosophy Paper
____________________________________________
This paper should examine the theoretical underpinnings of curriculum philosophy as you develop your own educational philosophy of curriculum.  Some of the topics that should be included in your paper are the purpose of education, instructional methods you believe are most effective and why (backed by research), curriculum content and organization (what should we be teaching), ways in which you believe we should assess students, and the roles of students, teachers and institutions in educating our students, and other issues you deem relevant.

Clearly identify the theorists and/or philosophies from the Glatthorn textbook which you have used to develop your personal philosophy.  You may use additional outside resources, but must base your premise upon the relevant chapters (1-3) in the Glatthorn text. Also, make sure you focus on issues related to your level of interest, either K-12 or Higher Education.  Please do not write a paper on the history of these eras and trends. This should be an application and analytical paper in which you apply the eras and trends to your own philosophy and show how your philosophy derives from them. The paper should be no more than 5 pages, excluding title page and references.
