Instructions
Assume your district has received grant money to be used to implement a new program at your school. You have been asked by the school district superintendent to create a presentation on the importance of teaching social skills and anti-bias at the next school board meeting. Be sure to include the following in your presentation:
- Identify appropriate social skills to be taught in preschool and kindergarten programs.
- Explain the importance of these skills as children mature, and how these skills can combat bullying tendencies.
- Explain how parents, caregivers, and the community can be involved in this program.
- Justify the use of anti-bias policies to achieve an acceptable level of empathy among young children.
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as speaker notes for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists. Consider expanding your experience by using a presentation software other than Microsoft PowerPoint. For example, consider Google Slides, Canva, Photo Story 3, or Prezi. A quick internet search for alternatives to PowerPoint will yield many interesting choices.
Support your presentation with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.
Length: 12-15 slides (with a separate reference slide)
Notes Length: 80-100 words for each slide
