Paragrhap

Submit your TWO paragraphs of response to “The Effort Effect.” One of your paragraphs may come from the previous discussion board. Use feedback from your classmate to improve that paragraph and add a second, distinct paragraph. Each paragraph should have a clear, distinct purpose. That means each paragraph will focus on a different main idea with detailed support. Each of your response paragraphs should include the following parts:

  • A strong topic sentence that states your main point in the first sentence.
  • Specific examples/details to support your point of view; this may include a personal story or a connection to something you’ve read or seen. Do not simply restate information from the article here. This is not a summary. As a response, you must include your own point of view.
  • A concluding sentence to tell why your response matters (why should the reader care).

You will add these two paragraphs to your summary to make up the body of your second essay. Remember–in the final draft of the Summary Response, you may decide to write more than two response paragraphs. This assignment will be graded on the following components:

  • Organization (each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by specific details and a clear concluding sentence): 30 pts.
  • Content (each paragraph provides your own experience or observations in relation to the article, rather than specific examples from the article): 50 pts.
  • Grammar and clarity (each paragraph contains few to no grammar errors and is clear to the reader): 20 pts.
