For this Unit 4 assignment, you will complete and submit the “Graphic Organizer for Traditional Fable” template. This will prepare you to write a short fable that you will submit and present in Unit 5. The finished fable will be an original short story that follows the traditional model of creating characters, setting, and plot that teach a moral. You will choose a moral from this collection of Aesop Fables from the Library of Congress . Be sure to click on each of the fables to see the short stories and see the interactive images. This will help you to create two or three characters of your own for your fable to help you create a story with a lesson. The characters must be animals or inanimate things (such as the sun or the wind) that act and think like humans. You will work on this over the next two units.

  • Unit 4:  Complete the Fable Graphic Organizer.
  • Unit 5:  Write, illustrate, and present your fable. This can be done as a PowerPoint or as a video where you read your fable and show the illustrations.
