A lot of companies collect data and utilize as a point of assessment and candidate measurement Reference Checks of potential hires.  Make the case for or against a policy in your company of conducting REFERENCE checks on new hires.  Justify your argument.  Effectiveness, practicality, investment, ROI, etc.
