When you have selected your two objects, you must write a short essay response (3-4 paragraphs should be enough) for your blog assignment. The essay must respond to three questions: 1) What are the objects you have chosen and what is their historical/ cultural/ artistic context? 2) how do these objects show the effect of influence, from one work of art to another (visually, materially, functionally)? 3) is in a beneficial thing for artists to be influenced by other art, in your opinion? Additionally, can influence be a good thing or a bad thing, and what sort of effect does it have on the way we see a work of art?
This is not a compare and contrast essay this is about one style of art that influences another.
You must cite two sources in your blog assignment. These citations can be from the readings, videos, online sources, books or articles you have, or anything you like. Choose your sources carefully however, it is your responsibility to make sure they are accurate and worthwhile. A travel website, for instance, is a poor choice for a source.
