Reflection on Involvement Strategies

 

In this reflection assignment, you will consider the design and value of different parent, family, and community involvement strategies. Guided by a set of questions, your response will reflect on your learning in the course and how it relates to involvement strategies.

  • Create a 3 to 5-page paper (not including title or reference pages) in a Word document for your response.
  • Use APA format for the title page, references page, and in-text citations.
  • Develop an introduction and conclusion for your paper.
  • Use these questions to guide your response:
    • How would you design a parenting education or family life education program based upon the guidelines discussed in this module?
    • How would children benefit from the use of the guidelines presented in this module? How would families benefit? How would early childhood teachers benefit?
    • Discuss the pros and cons of the following strategies for parent education: Meetings, newsletters, the Internet, and family resource rooms.
    • What concerns would you have about meeting with family members to discuss referring their child for special services? What are the benefits of such referrals?
    • What are the characteristics of a professional in early childhood education?
    • List and discuss benefits and potential conflicts in collaborative efforts.
