1: Selecting an urban subculture/social group (this will be: cosplay) and a relevant field site to study group behavior and interactions.
2: Conducting relevant historical and background research.
3: Gathering empirical data through field site observations (including field notes).
4: Interviewing members of the group (informants).
5: Taking photo documentation.
6: Analyzing and organizing data around answering the guiding questions.
7: Composing a sociological write-up of the research finding that also integrates class terms to reveal knowledge of the material.
8: Formatting the paper as a magazine article and incorporating photographs taken during the process.
A well-written, substantive paper that meaningfully addresses the guiding questions should easily have a minimum average of 3-4 pages with single-spaced typing BEFORE adding photos and other graphics.
