Dispensational theology shares with Evangelical Christianity those basic tenants of the Orthodox Christian faith that are essential (such as the deity of Christ, virgin birth, salvation by grace, and authority of Scriptures). It is important to understand the continuities shared with other believers while establishing the distinctive features of Dispensationalism. The important distinctions to be considered are the relationship of the Body of Christ to Israel, the nature of Gods unfolding progressive plan of redemption, eschatology, and salvation in this era.
