Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year for Jews. It is celebrated this year evening of September 15 to evening of September 16.

Good Friday is the day when Christians remember the atoning death of Jesus Christ.

What is signified by each of these holy days?    In other words, what theological themes celebrated on Yom Kippur and Good Friday underscore the main values of, respectively, Judaism and Christianity?

Are there any important theological differences to be noted between Yom Kippur and Good Friday?
