Assignment: Literature and Content Area Integration
Choose an appropriate childrens literature title, one that is high interest and lends itself to a variety of learning opportunities.
Indicate the title, author and genre. Explain which literacy objectives/goals that could be taught using the book as well as vocabulary words that could be taught. Include both literary elements are well as phonological concepts.
Describe how you could use the book to teach math, science, and social studies concepts.
Include measureable objectives for each content area (math, science, social studies).
Describe the materials to be used.
Provide step-by-step directions to implement and facilitate the inquiry activities; make sure to include learning professional and child procedures.
The description should be 1200 words and should include at least four (4) citations. The sections should be clearly marked with headings so that your instructor knows which points you are addressing. Follow the guidelines for APA writing style. The title page and references page do not count towards the minimum word amount for this assignment.
