In this module we have discussed identity and relationships, and ways that we are shaped by the people in our lives. This final essay of 1010 will ask you to make a research-supported argument on a related topic of your choosing. 

Please select ONE of the topics below for your essay. Before outlining and drafting, review the “Tips for Success” file in Module 3. For the final revision stage, review the “Essay 3 Checklist.”

Option 1: As illustrated by the works in this module, there are many different behaviors and trends that can affect relationship-building. Choose two and analyze how they impact a person’s relationship with others and/or the relationship with themselves.

Option 2:  Many adults in the U.S. will spend decades of their lives navigating professional relationships. Identify 1-2 potential problem areas for relationships in your future career and suggest solutions.  (If you have not quite decided which career you want to pursue, just use the career that is your top choice at this moment. Even if your choice changes later on, you will still learn a lot about relationships from this exploration.)
