Future stages

Final Paper or Essay
In addition to the final project, students will be required to write either a research paper or an
essay/personal reflection on the changing landscape of the performing arts.  Papers or essays should be
approximately 800 words in length.

Examples of topics for papers  include an analysis of a multimedia, new media or interdisciplinary work
created within the past 10 years or a comparison of 2 recent works in the same genre, ie., dance-video, VR,
interactive music, or immersive theater.

Essay topics could include a personal reflection on the ways new technology is shaping the performing arts
experience, thoughts on how young musicians can participate in the evolution of the music-making
experience, or suggestions on how schools and conservatories can prepare students for careers in the
emerging landscape of the performing arts.
