In this assignment, students will:
Collect and analyze assessment data from multiple measures and sources to plan and modify instruction and document students’ learning over time
Support the development of foundational reading skills
Use knowledge about students and learning goals to organize the curriculum to facilitate language development and make accommodations and/or modifications as needed to promote student access to the curriculum.
For this assignment, you will give a series of short assessments to a child in your student teaching placement or home, analyze them to determine the students strengths and areas of need, and develop an instructional support plan.
Part I: Assessments
Student Background Sheet
You will be able to find the student background. Submit PDFs or pictures of your assessments and write a summary of what you learned from each assessment about the students strengths and needs, citing evidence.

Part II: Instructional Support Plan
Write a detailed summary of the students strengths and needs, drawing on evidence from the assessments. Then, describe two specific instructional strategies and/or activities designed to foster your students literacy development by addressing the needs and/or building on the strengths you identified.
