Plea

A plea bargain is a consideration (deal) offered by the state in exchange for something else (information, guilty plea, etc.). This module has discussed several types of plea bargains.

1. Find an article in a recent newspaper that reports on& a plea bargaining arrangement. Briefly summarize the case that is reported, and the circumstances of the plea bargain.

2. Determine from the report if the description best fits charge bargaining, count bargaining or sentencing bargaining.

3. In your opinion, who was best served by the deal and why?

YOUR RESPONSE SHOULD BE NOT LESS THAN ONE NOR MORE THAN TWO PAGES IN LENGTH. INCLUDE A CITATION FROM THE NEWSPAPER (URL, IF FOUND ONLINE). Make sure you clearly mark 1) whether it is a charge bargain, count bargain or sentence bargain; and 2) who is best served and why you believe that to be the case. If either of those two elements are missing or UNCLEAR, you will lose points.I’m
