For this assignment you are presented with the following scenario, seemingly mundane: You are a new police officer, assistant district attorney, probation or parole officer, corrections officer.

For this assignment you are presented with the following scenario, seemingly mundane:

You are a new police officer, assistant district attorney, probation or parole officer, corrections officer, or other public servant in the criminal justice system. During your field training/probationary period of employment you are teamed with a senior partner/mentor/field training officer. While out to lunch at a local establishment it is time to pay the bill and get back to work. As the server brings over the check, your partner waves to the manager/owner. The manager tells the waitress it is ok, nothing is owed because “…they’re out protecting us every day.” Your assignment is to thoroughly develop an answer to this question: What do you do next? Here are the parameters for this final project, due by the deadline:

Submit a 1,000 – 2,000 word paper, in Microsoft Word, answering the question (approximately 4-8 content pages). Word count begins with the introduction and ends with the last word in the conclusion (see samples in our online classroom).

Your paper and presentation must be consistent with the standards set forth in the APA 7th; 

You should have a well-developed introduction, main body with key points, and strong conclusion, using a minimum of six (6) credible sources.  

 With the exception of Black’s Law Dictionary, dictionaries and sources such as Wikipedia are not credible sources and may not be used in your writing.
