Final Project: Business Plan

The business plan needs to have these core components (defined below) plus any other necessary information. You should use Power Point, as if you are presenting to potential investors.

The Business Plan should be about 8-10 pages in length with paragraph forms, bullet points, and charts or tables. The sections on the paper will need to correspond to the core components and any additional sections in the presentation.

Some of the core components include:

Name of new business and intended location

Type of business: LLC, Sole proprietorship, Corporation and why?

Mission for your company and business: It is important to include the reason for this business.  What problem are you solving?

Financial breakdown: What are the necessary funds for your business? This should include how you will assign funds to get started. Where will the start-up funds come from?

An organizational chart (perhaps in the future) indicating different departments as well as management functions. You will need to include a description for each department.

Human resources section: This will include who and how you will be hiring.

Marketing plan: This should detail how and where you will be marketing your product or service.  How will we know about your business?

Risk Analysis: What are the main risks for the company?

Exit strategy: What does the 5 year plan look like, or the plan for exit?  If the company folds, who will this impact?

This is an individual project, but time in class will be allocated to brainstorm and collaborate with other classmates.
