PART 1- Module 5- FINAL ASSIGNMENT PART 1- (SHEILA)- Research Paper

·       Watch the video you selected in Part 1.

INITIAL HYPOTHESIS: In the jungle biome, the pattern of dispersion exhibited by animals is expected to follow a clumped distribution due to the uneven availability of resources such as food, water, and shelter. As seen in the Our Planet: Jungles episode (Netflix, 2020) and David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet (2020), animals tend to cluster in areas with abundant resources while avoiding areas that lack vital elements for survival. This clumped distribution may be further influenced by social behaviors and predator-prey interactions within the dense and complex jungle ecosystems.

·       AFTER watching the video, please write if your initial hypothesis was supported or not and why. Check Chapter 45: Population and Community Ecology to formulate your hypothesis.

·       Describe the selected biome’s characteristics:

Climate, average temperature, average precipitation, seasons (if applicable), and locations in the world (continents, countries)

·       Identify 3 plants that are found in your biome and describe an adaptation they each have for surviving in the biome.

·       Identify 3 animals that are found in your biome and describe an adaptation they each have for surviving in the biome.

·       Identify the biome’s invasive species.

·       Identify possible or current threats to the biome.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: In this assignment, you must submit your complete work, including the hypothesis from Module 5. Your work must be written and presented in APA 7 format and must include the following pictures/screenshot from the video/place visited:

·       Overall view/representation of the biome

·       Three pictures of the plants you described

·       Three pictures of the animals you described.

·       Map of the biome location.

·       References – include websites, books, or other resources you used to create your project, give credit to the images you used. Follow the latest APA 7 guidelines for formatting.

PART 1- Module 6- ASSIGNMENT- (VAL)- Course Summary Paper (revised and expanded)

We are now nearly finished with the course and we have covered a lot of ground.

At the midway point, in the Module 3 Assignment, we paused to review what we had covered up to that point. For that paper (ATTACHED), I asked you to imagine someone came up to you and asked you to explain Catholicism in the amount of time that person could stand on one leg. (Well, really I asked you to explain what Jesus’ super-simple answer means.)

Now, three weeks later, you know even more. How would you respond now? Add another 400-500 words to your paper, including at least 5 additional references to course material (lectures, reading, videos, etc.) in your summary. (Note: You should also edit the paper based upon any feedback provided after Module 3.)

You must demonstrate mastery of the basic “narrative” or “journey” of the course and how the major themes of the course fit into that “narrative.”

For these course summary papers, you should follow a basic format like this one:

·       Intro paragraph (Module 3 paper’s intro should be edited to account for content through Module 6)

In Module 6 will explore the way in which Catholics live life. It will explore what it means to live life in Christ.

·       Body paragraph 1:  Summary of Module 1 (with one or two references to course material)

·       Body paragraph 2:  Summary of Module 2 (with one or two references to course material)

·       Body paragraph 3:  Summary of Module 3 (with one or two references to course material)

·       Body paragraph 4:  Summary of Module 4 (with one or two references to course material)

·       Body paragraph 5:  Summary of Module 5 (with one or two references to course material)

·       Body paragraph 6:  Summary of Module 6 (with one or two references to course material)

·       Concluding paragraph (Module 3 paper’s conclusion should be edited to account for content through Module 6)

Submission Instructions:

Your summary must demonstrate evidence of mastering the course lecture and reading materials. You must include at least additional 5 references to course material (lectures, reading, videos, etc.) in your summary. (Note: This should bring your total references in the bibliography to at least 10.)
