The Process of Writing an Essay

After reading the chapter on the process of writing an essay located in Module 3: Lecture Materials & Resources, write a three-paragraph summary of one of the stories you’ve read so far (including this week). Your analysis should be organized as follows:

Paragraph 1 – Summary of the chosen storyParagraph 2 – Analysis of character development OR conflict developmentParagraph 3 – A response to an academic journal on the specific story or writer. Use at least one in-text citation in your response and include a works cited page.

Steps for paragraph three:

  1. Use the STU library to look up an article on the author’s work. 
  2. Choose ONE article for your third paragraph. 
  3. Write your response paragraph and use at least one part of your research to support your response. 

Submission Instructions:

  • The paper is to be clear and concise and students will lose points for improper grammar, punctuation, and misspellings.
  • The paper should be formatted per the current MLA and 3 paragraphs in length with a work cited page. Incorporate a minimum of 1 current article (published within the last five years) within your work.
