For this assignment, you will assess different strategic plans within the justice system. Conduct a search and selection for a specific criminal justice strategic plan that operates at the federal level through a federal court, federal law enforcement agency, or nationally focused non-profit organization. Evaluate and determine how the plan seeks to make improvements in the criminal justice system for people at the national level.
Review and then select a strategic plan that corresponds and operates within your state through your local criminal and/or family law court system. This can include a program such as a drug court diversion program, a domestic violence resolution courtroom, a court implemented system for at-risk – juvenile offenders or a program of your choosing that is focused on providing a solution to a specific problem in criminal or family court in your state or local area.
This should also include a discussion of a summary of the federal-based strategic plan and the state-level plan you have researched.
Incorporate the following into your paper:
- Describe how each program has developed over time and operates within the criminal justice system.
• Cite using sources that reference any specific news events related to that program and its success or failure.
• Assess the notable differences between a federal strategic plan that is national in scope versus a state-focused strategic plan.

References: Include a minimum of 5 scholarly resources.
