Annotated Bibliography

Annotated Bibliography

Students will select a research topic of relevance to adolescent development and education (e.g. ethnic identity development amongst immigrant adolescents, siblings influence on academic achievement of adolescents, etc.) in which they are interested. They will then identify a list of seven scholarly sources (i.e. research articles or book chapters) to create an annotated bibliography. This bibliography will consist of a list of citations to the selected academic sources followed by a brief description of each one. This brief description must summarize the purpose of the article, the methodology utilized, and the key findings uncovered. The annotated bibliography must close with a concluding memo consisting of a few paragraphs that summarize overall findings across all sources, synthesize the findings cohesively, and designate specific gaps in the research in need of future exploration. Doctoral students enrolled in the 8112 version of this course must include ten scholarly sources in their annotated bibliography.
