1. The Essay must be 3-5 pages, double spaced, in 10-12 point font with one inch margins.
2. The Essay must include an introductory, concluding, and body paragraphs.
3. The Essay must have a strong thesis statement that refers to the primary source or sources utilized in the Essay.
4. The Essay must utilize, as evidence to support the thesis, direct quotations from the source or sources you are utilizing. These quotations must be inside quotation marks. You do not have to cite the source if it is one of the sources utilized in the class. If you cite directly from a source that is not utilized in the class use MLA citation form.
5. The Essay will be evaluated on the strength of the thesis, the quality of the organization, the skill with which primary source quotations are selected and utilized, and the style and flair with which the argument is presented.
