Address the ethics of qualitative research, particularly the call to do no harm. Be sure to be specific and illustrate your points with concrete examples. Based on your learning this week in the readings and the content, address the following questions:
What do you see as the primary ethical concerns associated with qualitative methodologies?
How does the ethics code you ascribe to ( ACA, or some other) confront these concerns?
Finally, if you were recruited for a qualitative study, what would need to be in place for you to feel comfortable consenting to your participation?
Briefly summarize for us the proposed qualitative project you intend to write about. Include the research questions (RQ) under consideration and a list of 3-4 semi-structured interview questions for each. Do you need any help narrowing your list of questions?
What, if any, challenges are you facing where conceptualizing your project is concerned?
What interviewing strategies will you take away from your learning this week on the form interviews take in qualitative research? Do the interview questions you proposed in part I meet the identified criteria?
Dealing with the topic of content and media analysis. More and more research is being conducted in this vein as more and more of the worlds population relies on multiple forms of interactive media in their everyday lives.
Based on your learning, what research questions is media analysis best able to answer, do you think? Are there pitfalls associated with this research? Lastly, what topic ideas are you considering for your second assignment and how will you decide which topic to proceed with?
Data preparation is a step in the research process most of us who do not often do research forget must be done. Outliers, incomplete interviews and other considerations apply even in qualitative research. What are the pragmatic aspects of data preparation; in other words, why must it be done? When collecting data at the qualitative level, how do we know when saturation has been reached?
Finally, identify the analytical frameworks addressed in your reading . Does one hold more appeal to you than another; in what way?
