3. Answer these questions after completing both text and supplementary reading:
Describe the ways in which social media as an innovation has changed the way that people communicate ideas and beliefs. What is different from the way that ideas and beliefs are shared through “old” forms of media and communications?
Read the article on QAnon–Taken for a Moral Ride. Briefly describe the QAnon conspiracy beliefs around human trafficking. Why do you think so many people are attracted to these ideas and why do you think so many people have adopted these beliefs?
Use one of the three major theoretical perspectives to describe the QAnon phenomenon–this may be hard, but pick the one you understand the best and try explaining it from that perspective–functionalism, conflict theory or symbolic interactionism.
