Steps to complete Component A. There are three steps:
1. Select an epidemiologic article from a research journal that addresses an aspect of our objectives.
Understand fundamental epidemiological terms and concepts.
Comprehend and differentiate types and purposes of epidemiological investigations.
Describe and apply epidemiological models and measurements to study the distribution and determinants of health-related events in local, regional, national, and global populations; and
Explore epidemiologic strategies employed in historic and/or ongoing epidemiological challenges.
2. Provide your selected article’s title, author(s), source, e.g. journal’s name, year that the article was published, and the article’s link.
Steps to complete Part 1’s Component B: (due Thurs., March 11th)
1. Write a paragraph (> 10 sentences) and post it below (after your posted article’s bibliographic information).
2. Include in your paragraph:
A) An overview sentence) describing the purpose of the article.
B) A sentence(s) describing the investigation’s objectives, significance, methods (strengths/weaknesses), findings/conclusions, and future directions.
C) Provide a sentence(s) summarizing the findings.
D) Discuss the epidemiological significance of the topic and article, and/or future strategies/potential solutions to the epidemiological/scientific/public health challenge/dilemma/situation.
E) Write two questions (one objective and one contemplative) for replies and discussion.
