Now, that you have selected your project for this semester, you will need to develop a Project Charter using the template provided below. The Project Charter will be a separate document from the Project Management Plan. You need to be prepared to present your project charter in the next class.
Notes:
- The project work for this class should be a new project work. The project work submitted in other classes e.g. PMGT510 or PMGT 540 should be excluded.
- Please make sure that the research work you conducted in GRAD 695 is suitable and meets the definition of a project for PMGT 699. Your selected project needs to meet the requirements listed below.
Project Guidelines:
– Meets the definition of a project
– At least 5-10 people that would work on it
– Project that if done would take 6 months or more to complete
– Must use traditional (or Waterfall) methodology (No Agile methodology)
– Lend itself to a Project Management Plan (like approach that you did for PMGT 510 and a schedule that you did for PMGT 540)
– Have minimum of 150 tasks in your schedule
– generally project cost in the range of $300K or more
– preferred to include procurement of product or services
– For SEVIS/CPT students, project idea is job related
Note: You need to work on this document named “699 Project Charter Template 5.7.18”
