coursework we want you to write a 500-word (+ 10%) lay summary explaining the research in a specific peer-reviewed article in a way that a non-specialist can understand. Please note that this is not an abstract, which is designed for subject peers.
you will be asked questions related to the chosen article, that will allow you to demonstrate your critical analysis skills and understanding of key aspects of the study. Note that the total word limit for your three answers is 1000 (+10%) and that you should not use the same style of writing as for the lay summary. You should use formal scientific language, as you would do in a scientific essay (in other words, your audience for this section of your coursework is the scientific community rather than the general public).
