between production and protection. As part of that balance, especially in high tech industries, is
the concept of risk compensation (also known as risk homeostasis). For the aviation industry, provide
an overview of how risk compensation has been at work for the last 100 years as technology has
advanced. At least three specific examples of advances in technology and the operational and safety
repercussions of those advances should be provided.
