Black Lives Matter
Founded in the United States in the year 2013 Black Lives Matter (BLM) was a worldwide mass revolution aimed at stopping anti-Black racism and violence, especially police brutality. Black Lives Matter protesters were advocating for community to care about the lives and dignity of people of color in the same way that it values the existence and dignity of white folks. Three Black activist individuals, Opal Tometi, Alicia Garza, and Patrisse K.-Cullors, co-founded the movement as an online community.
