Based on your understanding of ONE of the books you chose to read for this class based on the list on the syllabus develop a 4-5 page essay.
Your essay should be separated into two distinct sections:
Section I Analysis (2 pages)
Describe what parts/facet of the book/story were most interesting to you? Relating to the concepts described in the text, to what extent have your own perceptions of social groups been influenced. Provide concrete examples and make clear connections to the book. Think about and describe ways in which the main character(s) experiences relate to topics and concepts of our course readings and activities? In what ways (if any) has this book impacted your belief system regarding race, culture, gender and/or privilege?
Section II Reflection (2-3 pages)
Reflect on your overall experiences in this course. What have you gained from this course experience learning about race, ethnicity, culture, and gender, and privilege? In terms of your personal & professional life, in what ways has this impacted you? In what ways do you feel you will be able to use what you have learned/gained? In what ways do you expect you will use content gained from the course? A strong paper will provide in-depth, meaningful ways the course content is relevant to ones personal & professional life.
