CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, RADIOLOGICAL, NUCLEAR, AND EXPLOSIVE (CBRNE) THREATS TO THE U.S. HOMELAND

CBRNE is an enduring public threat health, safety, national security, economic, political stability, and more.  Such an event/crisis poses challenges for homeland security.  Recall the anthrax attacks in the U.S. in 2001 (e.g., Hart Senate Building and Brentwood Post Office and remediation efforts to return the facilities to use and public concern).

Use your search engine (e.g., Google) and review summaries of the Ebola Outbreak 2014-2015 and the return of infected/disease-exposed American citizens (AMCITS) to the U.S.  A significant challenge of a pathogen-related or chemical event will be the nature and number of casualties.  Biological incidences may mean the requirement to quarantine or isolate people and even decontamination of people, materiel, and areas.  Decontamination is the removal of the hazard to reduce the potential for future contamination.

My Task
Using your critical analysis, discuss the return of AMCITS to the U.S. via commercially contracted aircraft and the domestic travel of symptomatic but not detected passengers traveling on U.S. commercial aircraft.

Complete the scenario by discussing how the U.S. would go about preventing residual risk from affecting everyday life.  Address the themes from this course in your response.
