Sometimes people tell me they feel overwhelmed by climate change because there is “nothing they can do.” I point out that own my life is full of stories of times that I accidentally ran into rich and powerful people, and other times I made an effort (such as when I met every single person running for president in 2000, because I wanted to talk to them to get a feel for them). Greta Thunberg got invited to address the United Nations when she was 14. I have run into Congress people in Center City, and talked with the Mayor of Philadelphia a number of times. So imagine you have been granted to opportunity to talk to a group of powerful people about how we should respond to climate change? What do you say in just a few minutes? How do you convince them to act?
