Week 4 begins preparation for the Week 6 Persuasive Academic Essay. Writing an essay begins with finding topics. This assignment has two parts: Practice Using ESBCO and Selecting Topics.

 

You will create two documents for this assignment and attach both to the grading module

Use the EBSCO Practices Worksheet. As you complete the assignment, write your answers on the template (it is a Word document).

Part 2:  Preparation for the Week 6 Academic Essay

Use the Essay Topic Worksheet

  • Read the week 6 assignment instructions
  • Decide on three possible topics for the Week 6 essay.
  • Use the Essay topic Worksheet

 

 

Content and format requirements Content: Identify three possible topics for the week 6 essay

For each topic:

  • Write a paragraph regarding why the topic is of interest to you.
  • Go into EBSCO and search for sources on your topic. How many peer-reviewed sources are available? Search for sources within the last five years.
  • Find one peer-reviewed source that applies to the topic (three sources). Copy and paste the APA citation from EBSCO into your assignment.
  • Identify and qualify the author(s) of each of the three sources.

Organization requirements
  • Statement of interest paragraph is presented in a logical, sequential order. Topic sentence, supporting points, conclusion.
