Discussion 5.1You should have already chosen a topic for your final essay. Now you need to explore the multiple viewpoints associated with that topic. Go to the discussion board and write a brief response (300 words minimum) summarizing the multiple viewpoints associated with your topic (both for and against/pro and con). At the end of your response, present your own opinion on the topic in the form of your thesis statement or arguable claim. Refer to the previous lesson on constructing an arguable thesis to help you.As with all discussion boards, your initial response must be at least 300 words (due by 11:59 p.m. CST on Thursday, November 10). Then reply to at least two classmates with replies of at least 100 words each (due by 11:59 p.m. CST on Sunday, November 13). As you respond to your peers, try to fill in any gaps you see in their understanding of the pros and cons of the issue. In addition, evaluate their thesis statements to make sure that it us an arguable claim about the topic. If not, suggest ways to improve the thesis. Don’t forget to include at least two vocabulary words from this unit within your responses, and underline the vocabulary words that you use so that I can easily find them.
