Dominican Heritage

I have chosen Slavery and Gender and its from the 16th Century

Select an aspect, theme, or element of Dominican society during their given century for the Research Paper Proposal. Students have complete liberty on which aspect, theme, or element of Dominican Society they choose to study for this semester-long project. Some possible topic choices include, but are not limited to:

Economy/Commerce

Social Life/Religion

Race/Power/ Resistance/Accommodation

Women and Gender

Politics/Government

Battles/Warfare/Military

Biographies of Individual historical actors

Social Movements and Organizations

Research Proposals must identify a topic specific to the student’s assigned century, contain one relevant academic source about your case, and be one (1) page long. No topics must overlap within a group. For example, two students in the 17th century (the 1600s) group cannot choose to both study smuggling. All group members must choose a unique and individual topic. Dominican society is complex and multi-varied. Therefore, all groups must reflect this same diversity.
