- The summary focuses on main ideas and supporting points rather than specific examples: 15 points.
- Precise, accurate verbs (not talks about, writes, or says) are used to indicate what the writer is doing: 15 points.
- The summary is written in a neutral tone and does not include your own opinion of the text: 10 points.
- The concluding sentence notes the overall lesson or point of the article: 10 points.
- The summary is written in an academic style: 10 points.
- There are few to no grammar errors: 15 points.
