Now that you have learned about LGBTQ+ criticism and new historicism/cultural criticism, you should choose some aspect of one of the theories (not the entire theory, but a particular aspect) and apply that aspect of the theory as a means of analyzing one of the novels you have read. There is no professor-assigned prompt for this essay. This class is Advanced Composition and Critical Thinking, and part of being an advanced writer and a critical thinker is being able to come up with your own topic and thesis with certain parameters. You have to figure out what it is you want us to know about the novel when analyzed the particular lens of a particular theory. I will say that an answer to a particular discussion question from the modules on the two theories might be the beginning of a thesis statement for your essay, so go back and review what people had to say in response to the discussion questions to see if you can find a way into your analysis.
The novel is The Underground Railroad
