Expound on community service from the program director viewpoint

Per our discussion, I have volunteered at UCAN community outreach program April 2017-present (volunteer hours spent 5 hours for week in person April 2017 – February 2020; virtual 3 hours bi-weekly May 2020 – May 2021; in-person June 2021 – present). I mentor young women who are a part of the Still I rise program. The youth in this program are abuse survivors trying to overcome their trauma. My role as a mentor is to engage, support, understand, and help steer them on a growth path. The second program or department under the UCAN umbrella is Hoops In the Hood (June 2019-present; volunteer hours spent 5 hours per week). This program targets impoverish and drug, gang, and violent neighborhoods to get kids out to play. Basketball hoops are set up on blocks (similar to a block party) to help with cease fire initiative, getting kids off the streets, and engage in group activities. As a mentor, I volunteer in after work (5-8pm) and on weekends (9am-noon). I assist with setting up hoops, refreshments, mentoring, and lead group activities.
